Silje Sandø Rullestad works for NIKU in Trondheim, for example as Field Supervisor on the Market Square project in 2016 and 2017.

Silje has a master’s in archaeology from the University of Oslo and wrote her dissertation on “The Norse Iron Age blacksmith in text and context”. In addition, she has studied history at NTNU.

She has worked as a field archaeologist since 2007, for Hedmark, Sør- Trøndelag and Nord-Trøndelag County Authorities, as well as on excavations for the Museum of Cultural History, Oslo and NTNU University Museum. Silje has broad experience with Iron Age archaeology, and was also part of NTNU University Museum’s REVITA project, where she was responsible for the registration and re-packing of human osteological material from urban excavations. In addition, she has catalogued prehistoric finds for the museum’s archaeological collections.
