Reconstruction and adaptation of the historic building of the former ‘Gwarek’ bathhouse, Silesian Museum, Katowice, Poland

The project entitled “Reconstruction and adaptation of the historic building of the former ‘Gwarek’ bathhouse to serve as the studio warehouse of Muzeum Śląskie in Katowice”, funded by EEA Grants, consist in assigning new functions to post-mining facilities entered in the municipal register of monuments.  Revitalisation works are accompanied by infrastructural activities, and the project provides for the implementation of soft measures in the form of cultural and educational offers and trainings related to the scope of the project.

NIKU contribute as consultant in matters of cultural heritage management, taking active part in cultural and educational arrangements and in adaption of the museum’s contribution as a resource for urban development in Katowice.
