The warmer climate is affecting the Arctic faster than expected. Cultural heritage sites in the region are vulnerable to natural hazards, such as thawing permafrost and coastal erosion.
This requires an interdisciplinary approach, involving both natural science and social science expertise.
We have expertise in:
- GIS and remote sensing
- Soil erosion
- Monitoring and assessment of cryospheric hazards
- Coastal erosion evaluation
- Vulnerability assessments
