Mona has a master’s degree in archeology from the University of Bergen, as well as a bachelor’s degree in geology. She started with field archeology at NIKU in 2018 and worked with archeology for the University Museum in Bergen between 2019 and 2022.
Through her work, she has gained experience from the periods between the Stone Age and the Middle Ages. Mona is interested in interdisciplinarity and the connection between archeology and other scientific disciplines, such as biology, zoology, geology and so on.
Her interests include bone material, food culture, economic change and living conditions in Iceland and Greenland from the settlement period to the Middle Ages.
