International

The Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage Research (NIKU) has engaged in several international projects. These range from archaeology and conservation projects to research projects relating to use of new technology in cultural heritage, conflict resolution, slum upgrading and poverty reduction in urban areas.

In 2012 NIKU hosted a conference on "Can Cultural Heritage Investments Support Inclusive Urban Development?" in partnership with the World Bank and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

NIKU has worked in countries such as Poland, Portugal, Denmark, Romania, Bangladesh, Thailand, Tibet, Vietnam, Zambia, Uganda, Morocco and Oman.
